Diversity and our role in a fair and equal society
The Philip Morant School & College has always prided itself on being an inclusive school, in which students feel safe and everyone is treated with respect. That being said, we recognise that there is so much more to do in our endeavour to play our part in real and sustained change for equality, diversity and inclusion.
We are committed to:
- Having open discussions and asking for feedback from our diverse community.
- Evaluating our curriculum to ensure that it represents a diverse range of experiences and texts, as well as highlighting positive and successful inventors and role models to inspire our young people.
- Creating better systems for transparency and equality surrounding our reporting systems for prejudicial incidents.
- Talking openly to students about the language surrounding racism, privilege and prejudice and reinforcing the importance of being kind, treating others fairly and why we should celebrate our differences.
- Doing something today to make a difference, whilst also ensuring that we support deep, systematic changes.
