On Thursday 30th June we celebrated Black Culture Day, this is the first in a series of culture days being marked by our students and staff. It was organised by Year 8 students who worked extremely hard on displays and activities.
Over 50 students volunteered to get involved, representing Dominican Republic, Fiji, Ghana, Jamaica, Nigeria, South Africa, Pacific Islands, Zimbabwe and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Some students wore their cultural dress, and all the whole school had the opportunity to visit the event at different times throughout the day.
All students can be part of future culture days and chose which culture is important to them and that they wish to celebrate.
