This weekend 45 year 10 pupils carried out training for their practice expedition for the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh award. On Saturday, this included putting up tents, first aid training, cooking practice using trangias. In the afternoon they planned their practice route and their qualifier route. On Sunday, in their teams they walked their practice route around Fordham from 9-4. They improved their map skills, problem solving, teamwork and carried their full kit for the whole day. They all did incredibly well, some adding a little extra to their journeys, ‘just for fun?’ We look forward to them completing their Bronze qualifier expedition in June at Rendlesham Forest. We are very grateful to the staff who are giving up their time to give our students such an amazing opportunity.
